Growing Together – Our CEO RoundTable

Twice annually, Plaza Ventures invites the executive teams from our growing portfolio to an intimate CEO RoundTable. On May 9^th, our teams flew in from across Canada to discuss ‘Post Series-B Scaling & Challenges’ amongst their peers and five guest facilitators from Bennett Jones, McKinsey & Company, and KKR’s TMT Growth Equity Fund.

Some of the key themes discussed during the four-hour closed-door sessions included Mega-Rounds, M&A, Corporate Venture, and Geographic Expansion. Each presentation prompted meaningful conversation between our management teams, all of whom were encouraged to use the trusted environment to share their growth experiences with likeminded individuals who have encountered similar hurdles and milestones while scaling up.

2017 marked an unprecedented year of rapid growth for our companies. We are here to help our CEOs find their voices, build enterprise value, secure capital as needed, share our connections and partners, and to assess any strategic opportunities that may be on the horizon.

The feedback that we have received since the RoundTable and subsequent dinner event with KKR Growth has been extremely positive. Our CEOs found the presentations to be useful in addressing their challenges and felt that the lessons imparted by each of our seasoned facilitators were valuable and educational.

With many exciting opportunities in store for PV in 2018, we anticipate that our next RoundTable will include a few new seats at the table. We look forward to reconvening with our growing family of CEOs in the fall.
